  • Hanley Foundation ArtiKids Zone – helping kids with art and other activities
  • Youth Art Competition – helping to hang pictures and award ribbons
  • Volunteer Headquarters – checking in volunteers, providing t-shirts, hosting lunch
  • Artist Relations – working with the artists by booth sitting, helping at art pick up
  • Site Operations – helping behind the scenes with communication, set up, break down of the event

Name: Boca Raton Regional Hospital Championship, the type of volunteers needed are:

  • Juniors: Standard Bears, Scoring Tent Runners; We encourage juniors who are 12 and up to apply for volunteering for these positions. If they are younger and want to participate, we ask that a parent will be there with them. We have had some juniors that are younger than 10 and it was a success.
  • Adults and students: Everything else that is on the list. We are always in need of more Marshals for the tournament to help on the tee box (make sure people are behind the ropes etc.) , and to help with crowd crossing to the next hole.

  • Parade – Crowd Control: Volunteers will work closely with staff and will be walking and/or stationed in different locations along the parade route to help the parade run smoothly.

Organization Name: The Palm Beach Museum of Natural History

Location: The Mall at Wellington Green, 10300 Forest Hill Blvd., STE 172, Wellington, FL 33414

Details of Volunteer Activity: We are in need of volunteers at our location in the Mall at Wellington Green. We are specifically seeking those with a retail background who can assist our museum store staff, and those with a background in paleontology, archaeology, or related sciences who can serve as exhibit docents. Those who are interested should complete a volunteer application which may be obtained by emailing or calling (561) 729-4246. Applications may also be obtained in person at the museum. We are located in the mall on the first floor near Nordstrom. The museum is open 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm Monday to Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11:30 to 7:30 pm, Sunday noon to 6 PM.. Special events such as Family Hour at the Museum and evening lectures are held on selected mornings at 10 am or evenings at 7:30 pm. Volunteers to assist with Family Hours should have experience and aptitude for working with children. Applications are limited to those 16 years of age or older. A parents or guardians permission must be included for those under 18.

Name of Event/Activity: VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Greeter

Location: Locations throughout Palm Beach County

Hours: 3-4 hours 1x per week

Details of volunteer activity: Greet clients when they arrive, sign them in so they are taken in order, make sure the have all their documents to have their taxes prepared and they qualify for the program.  Assign them to a tax preparer.  Please note all volunteers must complete two ten question tests.  When volunteers contact us we will send the link to the tests.

Students can mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters! Joining our ThinkBig Club/Site Based Program will allow each interested volunteer to earn community service hours and change the life of a child simultaneously!

We offer this opportunity to high school students to be matched with a child in elementary school for one hour, once a week! All that is needed is a positive attitude, willingness to help with homework and play board games; which are provided.

We are always in need of volunteers at Furry Friends.  We ask for an ongoing twice per month commitment, either by volunteering at adoption events or at our shelter.  We also need fosters for our animals.  Minimum age to be unaccompanied by a parent is 16.  To learn more please visit the volunteer section of our website (under Programs) at  Students may also get community service hours by participating in our Wish List program, also detailed on our website.  Thank you!
