Location: Various Locations

Hours: Three shifts from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on week days, two shifts from 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. on weekends.

Details of volunteer activity: Volunteers will be taking hurricane relief donations, sorting, and packing/palletizing. Kids under 18 will need to bring the consent form which can be found on the event registration site. We’re also in high need of volunteers for Saturday, October 28th at Roger Dean Stadium and Lawton Chiles Memorial Park.

Name of Event/Activity: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – CF Climb for a Cure

Location: Roger Dean Stadium

Hours: 3:30 pm to help us set up until 9:00 pm after the event

Details of volunteer activity: We are requesting volunteers from Palm Beach County high schools, preferably in the Jupiter area. This initiative requires sufficient workforce in registration and check out, water and T-shirt distribution, where every volunteer help supports our “Climbers” raise money for this disease and find a cure.

Hours: Volunteers will work in shifts, and the shifts will be as follows:

o   11:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Details of volunteer activity: For the event, we will need volunteers for the following: Help with the kids tent, help with the main tent, help with set up, and help with break down

Jupiter Farms Elementary and Place of Hope Seeking Help!

Date of Event/Activity: Saturday, October 21st
Location: Along the North side of Okeechobee Blvd, between the Australian Ave off-ramp and the I-95
Hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Details of Volunteer Activity: Volunteers will help clear the old landscaping, so that it can be replaced in the near future. Volunteers will also remove plant overgrowth, litter and exotic plant species. The City of West Palm Beach will provide all necessary tools and supplies that volunteers may need, including cold water.
Volunteers are to park in the Marriott West Palm Beach parking lot, as there are marked parking spaces when entering from Okeechobee for guests. We will all meet in that parking lot, and walk over to the work site at 9:00 AM together.
**This event is going to be limited to the first 50 volunteers that are at least 16 years of age, and confirm their attendance. If there is an overwhelming response, we will work on putting together a second volunteer event (please see event flyer and volunteer application attached below). **

Details of Volunteer Activity: Leaders of the School District of Palm Beach County have joined a group of community organizations who are collaborating to support hurricane survivors in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Called Palm Beach County Cares, the collective  is distributing an official listing provided by the Office of the Governor of Puerto Rico, with requests that contributors make only financial donations or donations of the items on the listing. Organizers are also seeking volunteers, ages 16 and older, to help with packing, sorting, and loading contributions, whether at the established drop-off locations or at the Port of Palm Beach.

Palm Beach Zoo Looking for Halloween Volunteers!

Pennant Flag Barrier Reinforcement

Saturday, October 7  from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Due to the hurricane damage and work space limitation, we will be hosting Boo at the Zoo event prep at the First United Methodist Church located at 101 North Seacrest Boulevard in Boynton Beach. We will be reinforcing plastic pennant flags with clear tape. These flags are used for pathway markers and barriers during the event. A big thank you to Volunteer Kitty Sandoval and Pastor Parker Bennett for coordinating these arrangements!  Please RSVP if you plan to attend and assist with the flag project. Non-zoo volunteers must make arrangements in advance to attend.
