Name of Organization: Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center
Details of volunteer activity: Volunteers range in age from 12 years old to retirees. There are many ways to help at Vinceremos; horse care, rider support, office help, maintenance – tell us what you like to do and we will be so grateful for your help! You don’t need horse experience to volunteer at Vinceremos. You just have to come willing to learn and experience the joy of helping those with disabilities.
  • Volunteers help with horse care and barn chores.
  • Volunteers help in the lessons helping with horses and riders.  You may lead the horse or sidewalk with the rider during lessons.
  • Office Volunteers assist with paperwork, database organization and phone coverage.
  • Special Event Volunteers assist us in every area during special events; the Benefit Auction or Special Olympics or other horse shows.

Name of Event/Activity: The KVJ 5K Glo Run

Details of volunteer activity: We need volunteers to hand out medals and water throughout the course. We may also need help with check in.

Date of Event/Activity: Saturday, October 21st
Location: Along the North side of Okeechobee Blvd, between the Australian Ave off-ramp and the I-95
Hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Details of volunteer activity: Volunteers will help clear the old landscaping, so that it can be replaced in the near future. Volunteers will also remove plant overgrowth, litter and exotic plant species. The City of West Palm Beach will provide all necessary tools and supplies that volunteers may need, including cold water.
Volunteers are to park in the Marriott West Palm Beach parking lot, as there are marked parking spaces when entering from Okeechobee for guests. We will all meet in that parking lot, and walk over to the work site at 9:00 AM together.
**This event is going to be limited to the first 50 volunteers that are at least 16 years of age, and confirm their attendance. If there is an overwhelming response, we will work on putting together a second volunteer event (please see event flyer and volunteer application attached below). **

Organization: Seminole Trails Elementary School
October 19th-
Seminole Trails Elementary Kreative Kids Literacy Night from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.   Volunteers will assist coordinators with “set-up”, greet parents, etc. Contact for more details or to volunteer.

Seminole Trails Elementary Pumpkin Bash; Volunteers will assist PTO with set up, running events, greeting parents, assisting students, and clean-up after event from 5:00pm to 8:30pm. Contact for more details or to volunteer.

Name: Boca Raton Regional Hospital Championship, the type of volunteers needed are:
Juniors: Standard Bears, Scoring Tent Runners
We encourage juniors who are 12 and up to apply for volunteering for these positions. If they are younger and want to participate, we ask that a parent will be there with them. We have had some juniors that are younger than 10 and it was a success.
Adults and College students: Everything else that is on the list. We are always in need of more Marshals for the tournament to help on the tee box (make sure people are behind the ropes etc.), and to help with crowd crossing to the next hole.
There is also a promotion going on until September 3rd that all volunteers (other than juniors and collegiate) will have a discounted rate for their fee which will underwrite costs of uniforms and help with donations to the hospital.
