We have a district-wide event on May 13th from 12-3pm at PB Central High, and we would like to offer volunteer hours to high school students who are interested to help with registration, directing employees and their families, etc.

Our Kids World at the South Florida Fairgrounds is back April 29th & 30th and we need kids who need COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS!

We have a literacy reading station where we read books to the kids and the costumes make an appearance at the book reading and the costumes need kids to wear them. This event is 15 years running and we are very proud of the community service program we have built.

The event is Saturday and Sunday from 10a to 5pm daily and offers 7 hours a day X two days = 14 hours in community service is available. Kids can volunteer for one day or both days!

We have 10 open slots –We do provide lunch, waters, snack and a SAFE environment that is monitored by Our Kids World Staff.

Gleaning

Event: Gleaning Location: Farms throughout Palm Beach County
Details: Gleaning is a food recovery strategy. Volunteers enter grower’s fields and pick the produce that is left over after the commercial harvest. The recovered produce is then taken to the Palm Beach County Food Bank for distribution to local agencies with feeding programs for homeless persons or individuals and low-income families.

Details: Join us at these events to bring communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer. Relay is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Each event is 6-24 hours in length and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Cancer patients don’t stop because they’re tired, and for one night, neither do we. Each team sets up a themed campsite at the event and continues their fundraising efforts by collecting donations for food, goods, games, and activities. This money will count towards their overall team fundraising goal. By selflessly devoting your time and energy through raising awareness and money, you become the voice of the American Cancer Society in your community. It’s a big job. And its not one that we take for granted. So thank you for helping us fulfill our mission to save lives and celebrate life. Every day.

Making Strides events celebrate and honor breast cancer survivors and caregivers; educate the public about prevention and detection to reduce risk of the disease; and raise funds to help end breast cancer. People walk as individuals or on teams with family, friends, and coworkers. Event volunteers help with registration, logistics, and participant support. As a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer volunteer, you get to participate in an exciting community event to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. Details of volunteer activity: Volunteers are needed to assist with ticketing, ushering, raffle/auction and a variety of other areas. Volunteers should wear gala-appropriate attire. For example: Men should wear dress slacks, long sleeve shirt and a tie (jacket if possible but not required) Ladies should wear dress slacks or a skirt/dress of appropriate length (you will likely have to lean and bend), and appropriate blouse. You will be expected to be on your feet for most of your shift, so wear shoes that are comfortable but appropriate for the event (No flip flops, sneakers, shorts, jeans or t-shirts allowed at this event). Must be 18 or older to volunteer.

Name of Event: 12th Annual Forgotten Soldiers Outreach Memorial Day Service “A Day to Remember”

Details of volunteer activity: 8-10 High school students are needed to help out with Forgotten Soldiers Outreach Memorial Day Service.  Volunteers will have to attend a meeting that Saturday morning at Palm Beach Memorial Park (time TBD but mostly like around 10am) to go over their responsibilities.  Volunteers will be helping out with coordinate the timing of the wreath presenters and presentation, as well as some other details for the service. Volunteers will  need to be at Palm Beach Memorial Park on Monday, May 29th at 10:45AM.  The service begins at 11:50am (sharp), and is usually over by 2PM, followed by free food being served.  Volunteers should be  dressed in shorts, sneakers and a patriotic shirt.  If you can provide your shirt size Forgotten Soldiers Outreach can provide a shirt.

  • Sort, organize, inventory and stock donated/purchased product
  • Research values and set distribution quantities
  • Add descriptive signage to departments and product
  • Build and set retail display racks
  • Create inviting displays and creative uses of outdated items
  • Shop maintenance, as needed

St Vincent De Paul thrift store is looking for students who would like to volunteer to earn community hours. We are a 501 c3 non for profit catholic society who has a thirft store in your area. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10 am till 5 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. We could use volunteers at any time during our open business hours.
